A MESSAGE FROM CONNIE

Hello, and welcome to my campaign website.

We live in a State where our forefathers said to an intrusive, overbearing government, enough is enough! It was outrage and injustice that sparked our American Revolution and led to the formation of our great country.

We are once again at a serious crossroad in the proud history of Massachusetts. At a time when we are experiencing near double digit unemployment and a record number of home foreclosures, Beacon Hill's answer to our fiscal problems has been to increase taxes forcing many businesses already on the edge to go under and further exacerbating the economic hardship being experienced each and every day by families and businesses throughout our Commonwealth.

We are being financially squeezed by Beacon Hill politicians, many of whom have been feeding at the public trough for decades and who are more concerned about maximizing their pensions than about representing the interests of the people of this great Commonwealth. This is the same group of politicians for whom corruption and scandal have become commonplace events.

We need to do better! We must do better! We deserve to do better!

Given the financial mess of our Commonwealth, we need a State Representative, who knows what it takes to balance a budget, who's not afraid to make hard decisions, who is an independent thinker, who doesn't owe anyone anything and who will use common sense to set the right priorities for our Commonwealth. As a Selectman for the last 12 years, I am the only candidate, who knows what it takes to balance a municipal budget and to do so 12 consecutive times during economic hard times without a Proposition 2 1/2 override. I also know that our cities and towns have cut their budgets to the bone and that the state's local aid is critical for our cities and towns to provide essential services, such as public safety and quality education for our children. I have the experience to know that when our Governor claims that he will not cut local aid and in the same breath proposes cuts in regional school transportation and special education circuit breaker funds, those proposed cuts will translate into lay-offs for our teachers, police and fire fighters. As your next State Representative, my priority will be a top to bottom review of the state budget, the elimination of wasteful spending of our hard earned tax dollars and the preservation of local aid to our cities and towns.

If you believe that your next State Representative's experience counts and will make a difference

I ask you for your vote!!!!!

Please take a moment to check-out the rest of my website to learn more about my background, experience and accomplishments in local politics during the past 12 years and how I hope to be a voice for you. If you share my vision for Massachusetts, I ask you for your vote. Help me fight to put common sense back into Massachusetts government and to create a smaller, leaner, sustainable government that is responsive to the needs and concerns of its citizens.

Respectfully,

Cornelius “Connie” Sullivan
